Lisa and Paul are the founders of the brand new Old Con Distillery. They developed their first recipe and jumped through all the necessary legal hoops during lockdown. The name is a nod to the moonshiners and hooch makers who also made something good during difficult locked down times.
They make their delicious gin in a tiny still in their kitchen, in a small Yorkshire village just outside Holmfirth . A true cottage industry. The signature botanical in their first recipe is locally sourced Yorkshire heather flowers, giving their gin wonderful floral notes on the nose and the palate. Their gin is produced in very small batches, allowing them to give careful and loving attention to every part of the distilling process. They believe that this attention to detail is reflected in the taste.
